GS1 Databar is going to be phased into Grocery and Retail applications starting in Jan, 2011. GS1 Databar is a stacked symbology, meaning it requires an Imager to read and decode. A Laser scanner will not be able to read it. Are you prepared for the transition?

Datalogic Mobile is ready today! All of our laser models (with current firmware) support the GS1 DataBar standard. With our handhelds, you still get the high performance of a laser plus the readability of the GS1 standard.

The Falcon, Kyman, Memor, Pegaso, Skorpio and our newest Elf model can read all the barcodes specified on the GS1 Databar test card here. ** Even upside down.**

When you visit GS1.ORG, you'll find our hardware listed on top in the "GS1 DataBar Ready Scanners" section:
